From July 1st Sealcentre Pieterburen will be open again! Will you come and visit? Reserve a time slot for your visit and step inside the largest seal hospital in Europe! During your visit you can see how a large (international) team of veterinarians and seal care nurses take care of sick, wounded and weakened seals. Take a look at the seal pups Freddie and Billie (known for their live appearances on our facebook page) or put on VR glasses in our new exposition ‘Talking Seals’!

Due to the corona measures it is mandatory to reserve a time slot on a specified date before your visit. This also goes for donators, adoptants, Wadden and Neighbour card holders, ‘Kom je langs’ tickets and tickets sold through external vendors. Make sure to read the Sealcentre house rules before your visit. Do you have questions? Read the frequently asked questions or contact us!

You won’t believe your ears!

Did you know that a seal can talk! In the newest exposition you will learn everything about the language of seals. You will discover why pups ‘cry’ and what the impact is of the sound of humans on seals in nature through the new VR experience. After a visit to the Sealcentre you will have learnt a new language!

Wadden garden & Wadden playground

On the Sealcentre terrain you can visit our ‘Wadden garden’, a wild and colourful pasture full of plants and flowers from the region with a restored arbor in an old part of Wadden area. At the end of the garden you can go to our Wadden playground, a playground with arbors and islands where ebb and flow can be simulated. Children can play there on the logs and ropes. The shoes can be taken off, as there is a place to wash your feet afterwards. Children over 12 should keep 1,5 meter distance from one another,

Food and drink in the Summer pavilion

In the Summer pavilion you can drink coffee and have lunch. The sandwiches and hamburgers are prepared with regional products as much as possible. Seating has been created with 1,5 meter distance between, inside the pavilion as well as outside. Check out the menu here.
