Walrus in rehabilitation

Walruses live in the seas around the North Pole. Walruses aren’t seals, but they are related to seals and sea lions. You can recognise them from their reddish skin, bristly whiskers, and often massive tusks. In 1981, we took a walrus into Sealcentre Pieterburen, but it only stayed for a single night before it was released.
