Give a portion of fish

These seals are currently being cared for at the Sealcentre. You can support them by donating a portion of fish. Did you know that a seal eats an average of 5 kilos of fish a day? With your donation, the seals can regain strength to return to the Wadden Sea.

Dropje

Date rehabilitation: 07-11-2025
Location: Terschelling
Species: Grey seal
Gender: Female
Meet Dropje! The very first grey seal pup at the WEC. Dropje was found on the beach at Terschelling, all alone. During the 24-hour observation period, she lost 400 grams, which made it clear that her mother was not around to feed her. At around two days old, she is completely dependent on her mother's milk. Because it is highly unlikely that her mother will return after 24 hours, we have taken Dropje into our care. Dropje is currently receiving intensive care and is being monitored continuously. At 7.7 kilograms, her weight is much lower than average. Due to her vulnerable start in life, intensive care is essential for her recovery. Will you support Dropje so that she can return to the Wadden Sea?

Binky

Date rehabilitation: 17-10-2025
Location: Noord-Holland
Species: Common seal
Gender: Female
Seal Binky was only four months old when she was found on the beach of North Holland. There was a lot of blood around her, and clear signs of a struggle were visible in the sand. This could indicate that Binky was attacked by a dog. Because she was in such poor condition, she was immediately taken into our seal hospital. It turned out that she also has a lungworm infection. Would you like to support Binky, so she can recover and eventually return to the Wadden Sea?

Floris

Date rehabilitation: 13-10-2025
Location: Groningen
Species: Common seal
Gender: Male
This is seal Floris (previously named Pompoen). He was found on 13 October in the Dollard, where he had also been spotted three days earlier. During that time, he had not moved and it was noticeable that he was breathing with difficulty. That is why we decided to take him to the Seal Centre. It soon became apparent that Floris had a lungworm infection. He is receiving the appropriate treatment, but his recovery will take time. By adopting or donating a portion of fish, you can help Floris become stronger so that he can eventually return to the Wadden Sea!

Olav

Date rehabilitation: 19-09-2025
Location: Ameland
Species: Common seal
Gender: Male
Seal Olav (formerly named Aldebaran) was found on the beach of Ameland. He was only three months old and in a bad condition: he was struggling to breathe and had blood in his mouth. We brought him to our sealcentre, where he is now being treated for a lungworm infection. When he arrived, he weighed just 10.7 kilos, but he has already gained almost a kilo. Will you help Olav get strong and healthy again so he can return to the Wadden Sea?

Brique

Date rehabilitation: 11-09-2025
Location: Noord-Holland
Species: Common seal
Gender: Male
This is Brique (formerly Ringo Star)! This ordinary seal, less than a year old, was found on the beach at Sint Maartenszee. After a few hours of observation, it became clear that Briques condition was rapidly deteriorating. He was therefore taken to the seal hospital. Brique is now being treated for a lungworm infection in quarantine. Will you support Brique so that he can return to the Wadden Sea healthy and strong?

Donnie

Date rehabilitation: 15-08-2025
Location: Terschelling
Species: Common seal
Gender: Female
Common seal Donnie (formerly Nunki) was found on the beach of Terschelling in very poor condition. She was breathing heavily and was inactive. In young seals, this often indicates a lungworm infection. Because she was in such bad shape, we decided to take her in right away. At intake, Donnie weighed only 10.5 kilos. Unfortunately, that is very light for a seal of about 2.5 months old. Will you help Donnie on her way to recovery, so she can return to the Wadden Sea?

Anton

Date rehabilitation: 27-06-2025
Location: Schiermonnikoog
Species: Common seal
Gender: Male
Seal pup Anton was found in a heartbreaking situation on the beach at Schiermonnikoog: next to a dead pup that he was desperately trying to suckle. He was only about 10 days old, orphaned and weighed just 7.3 kilograms – below the normal birth weight. Would you like to support Anton until he is a healthy and strong seal?
